BUTYLEN-MB60 is used for field-joint coating, for pipe coating and rehabilitation of pipelines as well as for full pipe insulation. The innovative mesh-backed tape system is characterized by excellent resistance to shear stresses in the vertical direction while remaining flexible in the horizontal direction. It is therefore particularly suitable for use in areas with high traffic loads, such as under roads, highways, or railways, as well as on very uneven substrates and complicated geometries. BUTYLEN-MB60 complies with current standards with just one wrapping process.

BUTYLEN-MB60 is a cold-applied, highly tear-resistant mesh-backed single tape system for the corrosion prevention of metal pipes and pipelines. The innovative coating ensures very high lap shear strength in difficult conditions such as upward and downward movements of the pipe. Simultaneously, it is outstanding matching in the horizontal direction, so in the longitudinal direction of the pipe to the factory coating or weld beads.

BUTYLEN-MB60 consists of a highly tear-resistant geotextile fabric, which is asymmetrically embedded in a high-performance coating of modified butyl rubber. Unlike bitumen coatings, this innovative coating does not tend to become brittle. Even after years of use, it remains flexible and reliably withstands thermal and mechanical stresses. Position stability and durability of the coating are guaranteed even at maximum operating temperatures.
