The Cathtect USA SSD with our Survey Isolation Switch is a survey-ready decoupling solution engineered for accurate CIS/DCVG data and safer field operations.  Built on the same solid-state architecture as the hazardous SSD, it integrates an external isolation switch that temporarily removes the decoupler’s reactive capacitance from the circuit – eliminating waveform distortion during interrupted surveys while keeping the CP system online.  Housed in a customized Fat Fink aluminum test-station enclosure, it delivers precise survey performance, safe operation, and streamlined workflows for integrity teams working under PHMSA Mega Rule requirements.  As a modern alternative to legacy decouplers that distort survey signals or require unsafe field bypassing, the SSD + Switch reflects Cathtect’s commitment to solutions designed for today’s operational realities, not yesterday’s limitations.

Description

Cathtect USA gives integrity teams a modern toolset that legacy decouplers were never designed to support.

 

The SSD with Survey Isolation Switch is engineered for one purpose: deliver accurate survey data without compromising protection.  Standard solid-state decouplers contain reactive elements that distort CIS/DCVG waveforms, forcing technicians to remove or bypass the device – an approach that introduces safety risks, increases survey time, and disrupts AC mitigation.

Cathtect’s survey-ready architecture solves this by isolating only the reactive components while keeping the DC protection path active.  The result is a clean, undistorted waveform, continuous CP protection, and safer field operations.

The integrated switch is double-insulated, fault-rated, and designed with arc-diffusion chambers and venting to protect operators during actuation.  Positioned at the test-station terminal board, it provides fast, safe access without handling live hardware.

Built on the same advanced filtering platform as the hazardous SSD and DCD, the SSD + Switch ensures stable AC mitigation, low impedance, and predictable performance – now with survey-optimized control.
