BAC Pin Braze Equipment and Accessories
Pin Brazing is a welding method used to ensure a safe and durable electrical connection between various types of metal. The automated brazing process only takes between 1.5-2 seconds making it easy to use both on site and in the workshop.
Pin Brazing is a common choice in most CP applications but is mostly ideally suited for continuity bonding between pipes, across flanges, connecting CP test and current carrying cables as well as during the installation of sacrificial anodes and test posts.

Cathtect recommends BAC pin brazing system for all your pipeline CP connections….. When installing or implementing a cathodic protection system in any pipeline application and a spigot or sleeve joint is used, operators need to ensure these joints are electrically bonded for the system to be sound and effective. Pin brazing is the ideal solution and it is recommended that it be used when attaching electric cable connections over all the joints. The brazing pins are brazed at both sleeve and spigot ends of the pipe.
In cases where the pipe is of ductile or cast iron in nature, a threaded pin is then used. A prefabricated cable with nuts is then fastened to secure the connection, whereas with steel pipes either a threaded brazing pin with a nut is used or a lug can be used to braze the cable directly onto the pipe.
